For Hope and Purpose Ministries evangelization does not stop at our borders but goes beyond the United States of America to the four corners of the world. In 2016, as a way to build up the people of a small area in Cameroon, Hope and Purpose Ministries purchased farmland and supplies to begin a palm plant farm in Isangele-Bakassi, Cameroon, which is in Western Africa.
The farm is run by Fr. Elias Mengnjo Bongayen, a priest in Cameroon who is a member of the Hope and Purpose Team, and this project was blessed by Bishop Agapitus Enuyehnyoh Nfon. Fr. Elias oversees the project and teaches men and women in the area how to develop the crops grown to be produced and sold as a steady source of income for the families in the very poor area. The goal of this project is to share the Gospel message through helping families to support themselves by “teaching a man to fish, instead of giving him a fish.”
